Ovenden edged a high-scoring encounter with Stanley Rangers 44-40.
Nial Brady went over with two minutes left to put the hosts back in front before he kicked the last of his six goal haul to complete the scoring.
Luke O’Mara, Arran Varley, Martin Mullen, Sean Dyson, Gareth English, Chris Geoghegan, and Joss Bentley also scored for an Ovenden outfit which had comfortably led 26-10 at half-time.
Hooker Paul Hughes led Stanley’s response with a hat-trick whilst Carl Hughes (2), Daniel Grice – who also kicked four goals – Charles Ellis and James Senkiw all went over.
