In a very entertaining and competitive encounter between Stanley Rangers and York Acorn with both teams showing a strong defence, it was hard for either team to break through.  It was Stanley Rangers who scored the first try of the game with Christian Sutcliffe scoring in the corner, unconverted 4-0.  Stanley Rangers continued to put the pressure on the Acorn line and it eventually paid off with Vinny Cross scoring in the corner, unconverted 8-0.  The 3rd try of the game came from Stanley again after being pushed out wide by the Acorn defenders, Conner Ballinger scored in the corner, unconverted 12-0.  York Acorn's constant attack on the Stanley line soon paid off, with Stand off Harry Bromwich touching down  5 metres from the corner, unconverted for half time score 12-4.
Pressure from York Acorn had Stanley Rangers conceding three penalties penning them in their own 20 metre area.  Acorn's determination paid off with a try at the side of the sticks from Liam Lowson, unconverted 12-8. York Acorn took the lead 5 minutes later with a try 10 metres from the corner by Joshua Thomson, converted by Ashley Robson 12-14.  Stanley Rangers regained the lead after ploughing their way upfield for Charlie Ledger to score 5 metres from the corner, unconverted 16-14.  Stanley again applied the pressure on the Acorn line, Callum Hutchinson forced his way over at the side of the sticks, converted by Josh Hattle 22-14. York Acorn split the field open when Harry Bromwich broke away to put Tom Gurden over at the side of the sticks, Ashley Robson converted for the final score 22-20.
