| Normanton Knights U13s 0 v Stanley Rangers U13s 48 Wakefield Cup semi-final
 29.11.09
Stanley cruised into the Wakefield Cup Final with a very good win against Normanton Knights away at the weekend. Stanley were again with a depleted side with Broom, Hudson, Smith, Mawson, and Walker missing we played a very good game. The penalty count at the end of the game was 16 to 1 against us, and that along with only 13 players, turned out to be a very good win indeed.    Kieran Holt was awarded the Opposition Man of the Match, and produced a great running game, and always backed up with his infectious enthusiasm. KH scored a great solo effort to be the stand out forward.   Eddie Daly was simply sensational on the wing, and proved  what a valuable player he is and was awarded the Stanley Man of the Match for his great display and try scoring efforts. Alex Hobson also looked on top form out wide, along with Max Jowitt who scored the pick of the tries scored out wide.   Magic Moment was just that - the single biggest hit I have ever seen at this age group and we all felt the shudder on the touchline. Joe Foster was awarded the medal for that great hit on the biggest player on the field - well done.   Dom Jones back to fitness was a huge bonus for us, and Daniel Sowerby backed up with another fantastic performance in both attack and defence.    Matty again ran his blood to water, and led from the front, and along with the smallest front row in the league who totally dominated their opposing front row the game was complete. |
