The Uunder 9's presentation night was a very special event, with none other than GB and England captain Jamie Peacock presenting the awards to the players. Jamie was great with the boys, and he made this special day that little bit better, and one to cherish for the rest of their lives.   The awards given out started with the Players Player of the Year award, and this very special award was presented to the players choice, Thomas Sowerby.    The next was for the Top Tackler award, and the very impressive player who received this award was none other than Tommy "Steam Train" Gant. Tommy G won a very impressive 7 outright Top Tackler medals, enabling him to win a very well deserved award.   The next award was voted for by the parents, and this award was for the Most Improved Player. The list of players was Niall Fitzsimons, Mathew Sowerby, Tom Robins, and Jacob Barnes. Jacob won by one vote, and in my honest opinion was a fully justified winner. The amazing thing was the other three players all tied for second place.   The Top Try Scorer is always an award that the kids just love to win. The player who won this award was almost averaging 3 try's per game, and with 44 tries in 15 games, and that was the try scoring machine Thomas Sowerby.   The Clubman award goes to a player who on attendance alone hit 100% record in training, and playing in games. His commitment is huge, and will help him develop over the next few years. This player was none other than Ryan Ellison.   The Player of the Year was decided by the amount of Man of the Match awards given and chosen by the opposition coaches. The player who won, remarkably received 13 man of the match awards from the opposition coaches. This player has had a fantastic season, and fully justified this award, and that player was Thomas Sowerby. |
