        | NEW COACHING STAFF FOR THE OPEN AGE |

        | 09.11.23

We are delighted to announce the coaching staff for the 2024
				season.
Firstly, in an exciting and pioneering partnership, Tom
Megretton and John Nunns will share first team head coach
responsibilities. Stanley Rangers stalwart John Nunns brings a
wealth of interpersonal and people leadership skills to the
coaching staff. He's an unwavering loyalty to Stanley and will
be phoenomenal for us moving forward. In partnership with John,
Tom excelled in his role as assistant last year and has
continued to demonstrate an ability to nurture performance and
to build a club-wide culture that we're proud of. The two are
the absolute right people to take us into the YML premier in
				2024.

Working alongside Tom and John will be last year's Under 16s
coach Chris Molyneux, who joins the Open Age coaching team as an
assistant coach. Chris brings a wealth of rugby league
experience and will be super important for youth development.
The success of last year U16s is a large part down to Chris'
understanding of the game, and his ability to get the best out
				of people.

				And completing the line-up, last
year's assistant John McDermott will take up the role of Head of
Reserves team. John is a proven coach, and his understanding of
the amateur game is outstanding. He's absolutely the right
person to create the important environment for the Reserves Team
				so everybody involved can benefit.

These four have already started the work required to make
sure 2024 will be another outstanding year as we prepare for
the challenge of the YML Premier Division. |

        | RETIREMENT NEWS FOR  STANLEY RANGERS |

        | 05.10.23

				 After
Stanley Rangers Open Age win over Keighley Albion to become the
YML Division One Champions, the Open Age posted this:
"Finally..... today (30th September) sees the retirement of a
few absolute legends. Every single one has huge history and got
Stanley to where it is now. Without each and everyone of these
blokes days like today don't happen.
Firstly Roy Sampson. Roy took  back over Stanley after Covid
and lead the regroup. Down in Division 5, he has worked this
club all the way up back to the Premier. He will be sorely
missed but leaves the club in great hands and in a great
				position to progress.

Secondly. 3 players are calling time on their careers. Danny
Grice, John Nunns and Brendan Shepherd. All 3 have had massive
careers and all Stanley legends in their own right. They all
have a massive amount to still give to our younger Rangers.

Each one deserves their own post and that will come in time,
but for now as we celebrate today's achievement, I just want to
highlight all 4 of these blokes. This last 3 years doesn't
happen without all 4 of you and you should all be as proud of
yourselves as everyone at Stanley is. "

        | 19.08.23

Stanley Rangers are saddened to announce that Head Coach Roy
Sampson will step down from his role at the end of the 2023
				season.
Roy re-joined the club back in 2021, when the Open Age reformed. Since
then, Stanley have won two league titles, one playoff series and
one cup competition - losing only three games in three years.
His ability to support players of all ages and experiences has
meant not only have we had a successful three years, we'e got
the on-field talent to take us forward for the foreseeable.

Everyone at Stanley Rangers is tremendously grateful for Roy's
time and effort and we wish him the very best.
As a group, everyone at the club is now focussed on finishing
the season as strongly as possible.

Stanley will now start the process of appointing Roy's
replacement and interested parties should reach out to the
club, where they will be given more information. Applicants
should have experience in coaching senior players. Please email
stanleyrangers1919@outlook.com . Interviews will take place
				during September.   |

money raised from each age group goes towards teams and the

BBQ and memorial game goes to two charities selected by the
family of Si and James. Donations can be made online at:

We, as a club, are coming together to remember two of our
former players that we have sadly lost recently. The day
will be packed with events and we hope you all turn up in
					numbers to show your support.

					Simon Leary:
Simon sadly passed away in December of last year whilst away
on holiday. Simon was a big character and was the life and
soul of any gathering. He was a former professional with
					Featherstone Rovers.

					James Howcroft:
James was a regular in the Open Age in the 2000s. In 2008-09
he was named 1st team player of the year. Since the Masters
team formed he was also a regular player, playing as
recently as 6th May. Similar to Simon, James also passed
away on holiday with his family. James was known as a real
					gentleman.

Both lads will be sadly missed by all those that
					knew them.
