Stanley took on third-place Saddleworth Rangers and played well to get the score back to 14-18 in the second half but finally lost 28-16.

The visitors made a quick start with a two minute try to Ben Whitehead, converted by Josh Bradbury. Stanley replied with an unconverted Jamie Bell try but Saddleworth added two tries from Gavin Dodd and Ethan Langhorn, both converted by Bradbury to give a 4-18 half time score.

In the second half Stanley scored twice in six minutes with tries from Shaun Abson and David Baxby, to bring the score to 14-18. However a try from Whitehead just after 60 minute and a further one from Scott Owen sealed the win with two minutes to go.
